Welcome to our department today. I am going to start by informing you what is Heavy Haul?
Heavy Haul plays an important role in the trucking and logistics industry and the economy as a whole. Without the proper equipment and teachings the valuables services of heavy haulers, Large Equipment and Oversize Crate with supplies could not be safely or legally transported.
Heavy Haul could present some challenges to broker, fleet manager, district managers due to the size and weight of the freight. Along with numerous local, state and federal regulation.
This type of shipment or freight requires the proper type of commercial trailer whether for standard (8.5' width, up to 53' in length, usually anything over 45,000 lbs. requires permit to be haul on the roads, highways and freeways of America.
There are different types of heavy hauling contractors or operators in this industry. Before you can adventure into this branch of trucking or heavy haul. It is very important to understand what heavy haul loads are all about before booking a load. The type of heavy haulers are operators of:
- EXTENDABLE FLATBED TRAILERS (Steel, lumber or pipes)
- EXTENDABLE DOUBLE DROP DECK TRAILERS (Extra tall freight that exceeds 10'6" Limit)
- REMOVABLE GOOSENECK (RGN) TRAILERS (For extra long freight or overweight shipment that off er ease unloading or loading.)
- STEP DECK TRAILERS (For extra tall freight that exceeds 9' Limit)
- AXLE CONFIGURATION (Up to 13-Axles for heavier freight)

Heavy Haul trucking may also be known as a super load, machinery hauler, oversize hauling and heavy equipment trucking.
The maximum size for standard shipments according to US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is:
- WIDTH: 8'6"
- HEIGHT: 13'6" (states are allowed to set their own height restrictions)
- LENGTH: 48' - 53'
- GROSS WEIGHT: 80,000 lbs.
- STEER AXLE: 12,000 lbs.
- SINGLE AXLE: 20,000 lbs.
- TANDEM AXLE: 34,000 lbs.
The maximum size for heavy haul depends on the type of trailer being used.
PERMITTING FOR HEAVY HAUL TRUCKING
Oversize loads often need special permitting to comply with local regulations. The federal Government is not responsible for issuing permits. Each state has their own type of permit system where all heavy haulers must comply to. You must conduct a route plan before applying for the state in which you need to travel in or thru.
The route plan may or may not be accepted by the structural engineer department of the state due to low limbs, bridge allowance or any type of condition where your shipment or equipment can be damaged due to size and weight. There are numerous ways permits are issue in states. Do your research before calling and applying for permits. You need axle spacing, Tire rating in weight allowed on tires or axles. About N.J.R. Trucking
Who is Naomi Jeanette Robinson Trucking?
Naomi Jeanette Robinson Trucking LLC is an independent contractor. The name of the company came from my mother. I name my company under my mother and daughter names.
- Naomi Jeanette Robinson - My mother was born February 1, 1944, in Richmond, VA and she died February 13, 1993, in Orange, New Jersey by bleeding on the brain
- Khia Jinelle Robinson - My lovely daughter was born May 3, 2003. I asked my lovely wife if I could name her after my mother. Kareesha agrees to Jinelle and that is her middle name.
Tariq wanted his mother to live on by establishing a business to give to Tajallah and Khia to allow beautiful Mrs. Naomi Jeanette Robinson to live on.
So, the business is based on a family, a family that grew up in Essex County, NJ (East Orange, Orange, Irvington, Newark, Montclair) Jersey Native - East Orange Panther Pride Class of 1988. The ultimate goal is giving average salary for the payroll $50k to $75k with less Employees with technology and manual labor is limited with higher hourly wages to the community of Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson Counties.
